
Barry Brewer focuses his practice on Records and Information Management.
Barry has exceptional legal research skills and a detailed knowledge of domestic and international record retention and privacy issues. Barry has extensive experience researching record retention laws, privacy directives and security regulations. He has researched domestic retention issues at the federal level and for the majority of states, and has supervised research teams responsible for assembling retention and privacy laws in the United Kingdom, European Union, Germany, Slovakia, and Australia. Barry has also researched privacy and security regulation in the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Canada, Australia and Germany.
Barry is currently responsible for legislative tracking of domestic and international retention, privacy and security law. He reviews news bills and proposed regulations for relevant record retention requirements and provides law updates to clients, maintaining continuous compliance for Corporate Record and Information Management Programs.
Barry also has experience in major electronic discovery projects where he was responsible for identifying relevant documents, legal privilege and redacting confidential information.
During Law School, Barry worked for the Villanova University School of Law Farmworker Legal Aid Clinic. He also served as a research assistant to professors researching issues in copyright law and Federal Indian law and is cited for his research contributions to “Creative Commons and the New Intermediaries,” published in the Michigan State Law Review.
Barry received his JD, magna cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law in Villanova, Pennsylvania. He received his B.A., summa cum laude, in Liberal Studies from Wesley College in Dover, Delaware, with areas of concentration in English, History, and Psychology.
