Alexis Guanzon, Of counsel
Alexis Guanzon focuses her practice on Information Governance (IG), advising clients with regard to information management, records retention and international regulatory compliance. Alexis creates and implements Corporate Records and Information Management Policy and assists in the development of legally precise and defensible Records and Information Management Programs. She has extensive research experience in the areas of record retention, information management and regulatory compliance and has spent considerable time studying and researching privacy and security laws in the United States and abroad.
Alexis has designed and implemented large-scale research projects, training and supervising research teams responsible for assembling both domestic and international record retention, privacy and security law. Her compliance expertise is concentrated around the Financial, Telecommunications and Pharmaceutical Industries, as well as Environmental Protection Agency compliance related to the storage and transportation of hazardous materials. Alexis also assists clients in the engineering of legal information governance frameworks for application within technology. She has worked closely with Business and IT stakeholders to successfully implement dynamic and executable retention solutions.
While in law school Alexis completed an area of concentration in Creative Problem Solving with honors, studying preventive law, alternative dispute resolution, mediation and negotiation. Alexis uses her preventive law knowledge to advise clients on proactive measures to avoid litigation and help them identify legal risks.
Alexis received her J.D., cum laude, from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. Alexis was the recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship for Ethnic and Cultural Diversity, served as a student tutor and mentor and was recognized for her pro bono contribution as recipient of The Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services. She received her B.S., cum laude, from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University where she studied Economics and Political Science.
